Teen Wolf Star Tyler Posey Reveals Girlfriend Phem Helped Him Realize Hes Sexually Fluid
In an exclusive interview with NME, Teen Wolf actor Tyler Posey spread out about his sexuality, and printed that his current girlfriend, Phem, helped him come out as queer to the sector.
"I've been with everybody under the sun, and right now I'm in the best relationship that I've ever been in with a woman, and she's queer too," Posey said, relating to his girlfriend Phem.
"She's helped me realize that I fit under the queer umbrella and that I'm sexually fluid, I guess,” he continued.
“No, not 'I guess,' I don't want anyone to take this [interview] and be like: 'Well, he was kind of wishy-washy about it.'”
Back in October, Posey came out sexually fluid on his OnlyFans account. Being sexually fluid means that your sexuality shifts and changes from day to day or moment to moment. It is similar to being bisexual or pansexual, though there are a few distinctions on the level of how attraction is experienced.
Despite the positive reception from fans, the 29-year old actor revealed that some people did accuse him of “queer baiting.”
“Someone asked if I'd been with men [as well as women], and I said yes," he mentioned. "Since then there's been this really loud person online — I'm pretty sure it's only one person — and they're trying to call me a 'gay-baiter': pretending to be gay to get money, essentially."
Posey shared that the comments did affect him at the time, describing them as “in point of fact cruel.” The former MTV star also shared that he is stronger mentally now, and the negative feedback do not trouble him.
"I'm sober now and I've been working a lot on my mental health, so I'm in a place where I can somewhat laugh at that kind of thing," he stated, calling out the internet trolls. "But I know that other people who deal with this kind of shit may not be as strong mentally."
Posey just lately instructed the Just for Variety podcast in regards to the second he instructed his father about his sexuality.
"He was totally cool about it, and I was like, 'Yeah, man. I just didn't want to hold myself back, and I had an interest in trying new things,' and he was like, 'Okay, well, I understand that,'" he shared.
The actor went directly to inspire children to be open about their sexuality with their folks and have that necessary conversation.
"Fortunately, my dad was awesome,” he added. “I've told people, kids, who are worried about telling their parents my dad's reaction, and they're like, 'Okay. Well, maybe my parents won't be so hard on me if I tell them.' "
